“There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes.” Shakespeare said. Many people own their special or simple opinion about art. People have different views and perceptions about art. The course Art Appreciation gives us an easy and relaxes platform to touch the art and learn how to appreciate art in a basic way. Art appreciation is like a journey, and you will enjoy the change of artistic expression, history, and technologies. I would like to say that Art Appreciation is a mental communication with artwork and artists. From my point of view, nothing is better than knowing artists with their artworks, life, and stories. When I tried to know about the Chinese artist, Cai Guoqiang, I searched a lot of information about him including his type of art, life stories, and outstanding artworks. Those are mental communication with him. I gained a lot of mental treasure throughout the process. In my mind, this is a passion, reason, and power drive people to appreciate art. I said that art was like the vast sea, and artists and artwork were the main part of the sea, like kinds of seafood, fishes, and other creatures. These main things build up a system. The change of art is an exciting and unending drama to people; the artists are the main character, and the loyal audience is us.

       We learned, we shared, and we discussed it. From the reading part, I knew the development of early art. I also learned the basic concepts of art. In my opinion, art is a special footprint on the human developing picture. It comes from cultural, social, and political fields. People use artwork to show cultural achievements; people use artwork to show social phenomenon; people use artwork to push political activities. Artwork not only motivated people’s emotion but also encourage people’s actions.
